Agreement for Supplying the Main Compressed Natural Gas Station for Fueling Specialized CNG Transport Vehicles
His Excellency Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Thneibat, Chairman of the Board of Jordan Phosphate Mines Company, and His Excellency Eng. Fares Al-Qatarneh, Chairman of the Jordan Japan Fertilizer Company, witnessed the signing ceremony at the Ministry headquarters. The ceremony was attended by Eng. Ziad Al-Saaydeh, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners and CEO of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission. The agreements for connecting and supplying natural gas to the Jordan Japan Fertilizer Company (Nippon) plant in the southern region of Aqaba were signed between Eng. Fouad Rashad, CEO of the Jordanian-Egyptian Fajr Natural Gas Company, Eng. Abdel Wahab Al-Rawad, General Manager of the Jordan Japan Fertilizer Company (Nippon), and Accountant Mohammed Al-Tarabilli, CEO of Tanmia Natural Gas Company, for the implementation of the project to supply the plant with natural gas.
The project aims to supply and install a metering unit and extend a gas pipeline to the boundaries of the plant to provide it with natural gas. This project comes as part of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources’ strategy to expand the use of natural gas with the goal of reducing energy burdens and operational costs for the industrial sector, enhancing its competitiveness in regional and global markets, boosting the national economy, and contributing to reducing carbon emissions.
